England are still in the World Cup. We've played carp so far but our destiny is still in our own hands, and if we win on Wednesday then we go through to the knock-out stages. And in both of our games so far it has been more a question of England's lack of enthusiasm and ambition rather than the other team bettering us.
We are slumbering at present but we still have the chance to wake up and show what we are capable of. Have faith.
I've always had faith in Capello since he became manager but I must admit that the lack of a step up in performance from the 1st game to the 2nd in what are, need anyone be reminded, the World Cup finals is worrying.
If I recall in '86 we were all expecting England to exit in the 1st round until the final group game v Poland..which we had to win and did. If it wasn't for Maradona, England could have reached the semi-final. In 1990 it took a 1-0 win over Egypt to get us through the 1st round...we then reached the semi-final. Now I've calmed down a bit, hopefully things will turn around next week!
My thoughts go out to the English fans whom have probably saved up for ages to see such a load of crap, which could have gone to better use at a local home team match on a Saturday afternoon. Capello needs to really work on a better team position, and what`s happened to Rooney, had a row with Colleen?
The rumour is that Capello went to the Chairman of the F.A. and asked when he gets to coach the first team players, as he's fed up with the reserves.
I'm sure I heard the fans at the Algeria game chanting "Are you Scotland in disguise"
