Post About Suicidal MP Removed.

Perhaps my phraseology in the removed post was not to everyone's liking? It surely goes to show, though, that there are people on this forum who appear to be content to let MPs' conduct over the expenses scandal slide onto the backburner?
There is certainly still a large proportion of MPs who have carried on regardless, some of whom have simply been allowed to step down prior to last month's GE with no further questions asked. Can that be correct? Does my link not demonstrate obvious guilt on the part of at least one MP?
Should the topic not be discussed?

However, I do wonder whether or not the individual who took umbrage and reported me has also complained about the millions of pounds claimed in very dubious circumstances over the years by many unscrupulous MPs?
It's all very well to take umbrage at the wording of my post, but was it anywhere as bad as what hundred of these elected representatives have done to we taxpayers by their greed?
Perhaps suggesting that more of them should attempt suicide is somewhat insensitive, but the virtual theft of such vast amounts of "our" money by people who are referred to as "The Honourable Member" is, to me, a total disgrace. There again, maybe the poster in question thinks that my thread's wording was a lot worse than what his/her MP may have done?

Maybe they don't...............maybe, as you say, they just didn't like the tone of your thread.
I'm not overly happy with the patronising, supercilious, condescending, nose-in-the-trough, one rule for me attitude displayed by a lot of the residents in Whitehall, but I'd certainly carefully consider how I phrased my posts on the matter.

It was removed as a matter of taste. Nothing to do with the political message. Making the assertion that I'm somehow stifling discussion is ludicrous.
There is nearly enough hate and spite in the world without you pouring your half-pint in.
I would quite like to see a reasonable thread on this. It seems every thread on this topic contains a few voices calling "string them up". There is no need. Drag them through the courts, not the streets.
Spare Ed

I I didn't report you but I did reply to your first thread saying that I thought you were over the line.
You appeared to express satisfaction that this man had tried to kill himself with a wish that others would
People kill themselves for all sorts of reasons - most commonly depression. Not as a confession of guilt

Spare Ed,
Thank you for that. I hold my hands up that my initial thread on this subject was perhaps too insensitive for some people.
But I do stand by my observation that whoever reported me for (whatever?), I can only guess that s/he felt the wording to be somehow offensive, and I also wonder whether or not s/he has also had the public spiritedness to raise their head above the parapet to protest against the many avaricious MPs who have all but bled the taxpayers dry for many years?

There's plain talking and plain talking
Anyway I find this self-righteousness over the MP expenses scandle incredibly hypocritical.
The Black economy in this country is estimated at 6-8% of the GDP by the treasury (and that's conservative)
That's £200 billion of back handers, not declaring earnings, cash jobs with no VAT.
Yet you have people praising the suicide of "guity" MPs. The vast majority of whom have not actually committed a crime.
When you dodge paying VAT on a job you're stealing from the rest of us just as much as these MPs

jake,
You're assuming that everyone's as bad as these MPs. Simply not the case. I used to be in a job where you had absolutely no chance of claiming back expenses unless you had a receipt. Fair enough. But the fact that multitudes of "Honourable Members" saw fit to acquire many thousands of pounds at taxpayers' expense should not automatically mean that everone else is made of the same "stuff".
There's currently what amounts to no more than an ongoing show trial involving 4 MPs accused of dishonestly obtaining moderate amounts of money. I believe that it's a bit of a sham to only have 4 of them in the dock - there should be a queue of them stretching all the way from Parliament to the Old Bailey.
