Poor wee Rory has been found - life extinquished.

Sorry for this but what kind of people would do this to someone who had his own wee life in front of him - how dare they take that away from his family and also us who are parents.

How many given the opportunity would do severe damage - u know what I mean - and have some kind of satisfaction u had torturted the basket - but let him then suffer at the hands of the 'professionals'  when he goes down.

Sorry for being so sad!

Hi Buddy, I've been following the story and have been deeply saddened by the eventual outcome. The barsteward responsible will surely suffer in gaol. Hope they get someone soon.

Think you put your foot in it andy lol.

It is very sad and disgusting, this kind of thing the punishments arent usually severe enough neither.Hope they catch the evil bustard soon

Hi (from Glasgow)

I'm sorry, but I had the same reaction as Andy when I read the posting - I think it was just the way it was worded. At first I thought it was someone being patronising towards the child & family and using it for a rant which would have been inexcusable.

I had to read further down before I realised it was by someone who was so sickened & outraged like the rest of us.

I don't know what adequate punishment there could possibly be - I can't agree with the 'torture' stuff, cos what does that make us ? But how anyone can think they've the right to take a life - like the young boy at the bus stop recently - jeez, the moment & whatever these people get out of it passes - but you can't get that life back. Nothing's could ever be sufficient punishment for that.

Frugalmummy - Thanks first of all for your opinion - after all this is what its all about.

However I do take issue with your initial comment that I was being patronising.I appreciate you did get my drift but I have re-read what I origanally posted and cant for the life of me made it clearer.I explained to Andy the mistake I made and he posted a reply.

In response to your view that basically responding to violent acts does no good - I would agree but if it was my wee one who had been violated and taken from me then I'm afraid all reasoning would go out the window.

Sorry if that sounded like a rant and I do appreciate your views but we are not all the same.

Hello again Buddy,

OK.   Yes, I know. I've brought up 4 kids myself and I live in a difficult area with a lot of violence. I also grew up with it and one of my kids has been attacked for no reason by a guy crazed on drugs.

In the case of crimes/murders on children WHAT could we do ? Is it time we as parents stood up & fought for a change in the law ? Would the threat of the death sentence deter some people ? I'm beginning to think it might be necessary.

I'm not a do gooder here, I'd like the perpetrators of these crimes to be made to live with the fear & terror they subject their victims to. Trouble is I can't see a way to do it, and I don't think that getting your hands on the person who does something to your loved one makes you feel any better. I know when it was my child I couldn't give a toss about the guy, I just wanted to make her feel safe again. That's taken years.

God help Rory's family & friends as well as others who've suffered like this.
