Hi - glad that you are feeling OK and the funeral went well (if you know what I mean). Your thread hit a cord with me as Iost my own mother in March (she was only 61 and had only been diagnosed 5 weeks before) and then I lost my grandfather suddenly 6 weeks later (2 funerals in 6 weeks in the same creamatorium was a bit hard going).

Crikey Sherr - hard going is a bit of an understatement! You poor thing. My grandparents died either before I was born or when I was young, so mum's was the first 'Family' funeral' I've been to.. mind you Dad has the consitution of an ox.. he'll be seeing us off first me thinks!!!

It was a bit like Groundhog Day - still, at least my black suit was clean! My father (step-father) is only 54 but has managed to get food poisoning twice since my mam has gone (and was in hospital for 4 days the last time) - if he's not careful, he'll be next!
Do you get a discount for group bookings? (sorry - only joking!) (we're allowed given our experiences!!)

That's a thought - maybe I should book Dad in now?
not sure what happened to her eventually.. she was cremated (always fiercely proud that if she was in a house fire she'd be identified by her 'new hips') and I had a text from my brother saying that 'we need to pick her up as they have no room for her'...? from where I have no idea.. so mum's final resting place remains a mystery... I sneakily wanted a hip to pop on the mantlepiece as a talking point.. but apprarently it's against 'Health and Safety'.. shame.. Roald Dhal was allowed!

We scattered mam (and good God there was lots of her - that's all I could think, how is there so much ash!) - glad I made the effort to go to South Wales as that was the last time I saw my Granddad (think that is what finished him off).
