I think Vibra will know who they are Greedy without the help of youtube.

For me a good band consists of

Lead guitar
bass
drums

and from there it is how good the individuals are at using them. Of course a decent voice is helps too.

Well i think that both bands were good and both influential. The Sex Pistols without a shadow of a doubt influenced far more people than Oasis have and this is well documented. If i was given a choice of who i prefer musically then it would have to be Oasis as their back catalogue of music is far bigger and in my opinion better overall but the Sex Pistols songs still sound fresh today and have a lot of power to them and historically play a major part in how music evolved.

Ironically, The Beatles changed the culture of the world, as the soundtrack to the emergence of 'the teenager' - Oasis who were so influenced by them, were simply a band of their time.

The Sex Pistols, influenced by rock and roll and punk fro the U.S. changed the culture of the 1970's, bringing forth a DIy ethos that remains to this day.

Who is more influential - the Sex Pistols.

Who is better - at least as musicians and writers - Oasis.

But there are so many threads to this analysis that you might as well say "Which is better - applies or oranges?" and the argument will follow the same lines.
