A neighbour shot dead both my Neapolitan Cattle Dog's. He refused to give me the bodies back for burial after I asked him. Two day's later another neighbour made him drop the dog's bodies off at his farm and my husband went to pick them up and bury them on our farm. The Police say it is not theft as I eventually got them back. Has anyone known something similar such as theft of possessions.
I hope you have rung the RSPCA? This is a crime to shoot dead a dog - unless they were on his land killing animals and there was a sign up to warn of this or if they were attacking a human being
The RSPCA did nothing. He shot them under the guise of sheep worrying (they was both stock proof we are Farmers ourselves) They got lost in the snow, he was tipped off I was out looking. He went out with the sole intention of hunting to kill.
Your mastiffs were running free on a farmers land amongst that farmer's livestock.
The farmer was within his rights to shoot them.
This is not theft. The farmer exercised his lawful right to kill your dogs. You have the bodies. There is no theft.
This must have been some months ago. Is there a long running dispute between the two of you?
They was shot on a 'green lane' hence not on anyones land. There was no stock our witness confirmed this. I would like proper answers please. If your neighbours took something of your's, you found out, asked for your property back, he refused to give it back, how would you feel?
You now have the dogs' bodies back - irrespective of the rights or wrongs of the shooting in the first place - how can that be theft? You need to seek proper legal opinion - however this seems to have happened some months ago as it was in the snow, why did you not look into this immediately? I don't know what you are expecting to happen. I know your other thread talks about threats to yourselves, but was that some months ago, too?
Boxtop's. Where we live you have to pay for Justice. The Police will do nothing. Their only role around here is stopping motorist's who they can 100% convict. I have to plough every single penny we earn back into our Farm. I cannot afford a Solicitor at the moment. I am getting evidence together to go it alone.
Another good example of how the Police work. A lad who has a piece of land up here had his Caravan dragged off by another neighbour and set fire to. This is the third arson attack this neighbour has been involved in. This time there was three witnesses to the attack. All gave statements. The Police say there was not enough evidence after all three agreed to go to Court to give evidence. Hence even if you do have proof they still will not act.
The cheapest property in this area is about 1 million. I will not be driven from my property because the Police allow someone to have gun's who is not fit to possess them.
