I sometimes have the thought that we're all actually dead and living in hell but that's quite common these days isn't it?!
The closest I've ever come to a massive revelation about the meaning of life and pure fulfilment is when I read Jonathan Livingston Seagull. I felt like I understood everything after reading that.
How about you? Lissy x
I will go so far as to say that in 2003 I was arrested for something I did not do, due to a mistaken identity. The incident was fairly serious as the victim almost died.
Following a 3-month investigation the charges against me were dropped. I had found it rather strange all through as to why I had received such abrasive treatment from the police.
One year later I met the officer who led the case in my local pub. I will not repeat on here what he said, but suffice to say it remains the only time in my life I have been truly speechless.
I think we all live with many contradictions. For instance, most people like to feel they are individuals, with free will and a little bit different from everybody else. Yet the fact that we all like to feel like this, makes us the same!
We all are under a lot of pressure to conform in many ways (take fashion for instance), and most of us do conform to the normality of the community we live in. So really, we do not want to be seen as different. Society (or the rest of community) tends to pick on those who are different to try and get them to conform.
So why do we like to feel we are different? I think the answer is it is nice to be thought of as something special; to give our own lives a special purpose.
This is why I was interested to see if people considered their own thoughts to be unique. Hence the above question. Maybe then someone else would say I have the same thought, so proving it was not unique.
I see now there is one flaw in my idea. It is not so easy to write your thoughts down, as I have now proved to myself in trying to write this! I would not be surprised if nobody knew what I was talking about, yet to me, somehow, it all makes sense!

hi tabby,
what you have said makes perfect sense,it is very hard to put pen to paper and explain exactly what you mean. that is to explain exactly what you are feeling or thinking at times of inspiration.everyone is capable of these thoughts, but not all are capable of conveying the messages.it is nothing to do with intelligence but the stillness of ones mind.in a way a form of trancing.
