can anyone help. i know someone who has been arrested in the last 2 weeks, 1 for steaing a bank card and takin out £300 and the other for stealing £1000 out of a vehicle. there is no proof for any of these charges but is there still a chance of a sentence ad how long for? Also, this person has been on job seekers allowance but has been doin a little work on the side. is there a chance of sentence and how long for? please answer these questions

No, there's no chance whatsoever of a sentence if there's NO PROOF as you say. The law in this country requires proof before conviction (certainly before criminal conviction anyway).
As for the second, I don't know enough about it but I would imagine it would depend how much money is relevant. I doubt it would see jail time for a first offence of minor amounts. And of course there will be no sentence without a charge and no charge unless they've actually been caught working on the side. Have they been? You don't actually say.

if they have charged you - it is you, isnt it not a "someone" ? with withdrawing £300 from someone's account they must have some sort of proof .,camera ?
I find it hard to believe that anyone would leave £1000 in a vehicle and you would have to be caught red handed at that or was it items to the value of £1000 and you were caught with said items ?
Is it your first offence ? if not them expect a custodial sentence.
