My parrot!

My african grey parrot has been acting very stangly he sits on his food bowl like its a nest and has been V E R Y grumpy and refuses to come out of his cage which is very strange cuz he has always loved coming out. um the season is fall around here lol but hes acting very odd did this happen to anyone else lol thanks

I don't know a lot about birds, but is it possible he's having (or is about to have) a moult? I've heard that can affect their mood.

It sounds like your parrot could be sick.  Are you sure that your Grey is a male?  It sounds a lot like female territorial nesting behaviour.  I suggest you take your bird to an avian vet for a check up.  Birds hide their illnesses until they are very sick, so if you are noticing unusual behaviours now, the chances are that your bird could already be quite sick if illness is a cause for the change in behaviour.
