phew. There was a caterpillar by my back door at lunch, thought it was dead so left it for bloke to move when he got home, but it has gone now and he didnt move it. It was a big massive green one with prickly black hairs. I'm afraid I will find it in my shoe or something

Only one thing worse than finding a caterpillar in your salad and that's finding half a caterpillar.

if you've stood on it then it can get as far as you can in 4 hrs, viewing the world with its eyes bulging off of the sole of your shoe (or foot if you prefer alfresco)
