There could have been two men hiding behind these veils. I and at least 70% of the voting public in this country are sick to the back teeth of seeing and hearing about these women {or men} wearing these macabre habits. They should be banned in the Western World.

I think not. when a drunken driver had taken his / her test their faces would be visible if vision was obstructed the test would have been cancelled
Yes, I can go into a bank with a burka on - indeed in my local branch yesterday someone did just that. Yes I can drive a car at night with a burka on - as long as I am in control of my vehicle. Yes a Sikh wearing a turban can not wear a crash helmet and breaks no law in doing so.
Again, I ask, which law have I broken?

You ain't kidding boxtops. The DM would be on it like a shot
"Masked burka wearing muslim involved in road traffic accident".
As for doubting they have sufficient vision, the burka is in fact designed so that the women have full vision. The headress moves with them so they still have full vision. If they turn their heads they see perfectly to the right or left and not directly into the burka (well according to my muslim friend with whom I discussed this recently - she only wears the veil when visiting her family abroad out of respect, not here).

Have you ever worn a burka?! I can only go on what my friend says - who drives in Iran regularly. She's never been involved in an accident. Anyway, I'd still like to know what law has been broken as you referred to in your earlier post.
My knowledge of the law tells me that in fact NO law has been broken by someone choosing to wear the burka. It just offends the petty sensitivities of the daily mail reading classes.

Just to end this, do either of you Drive? Barmaid / Boxtops, take a run out in your cars after 10 pm tonight put on a pair of Sunglasses to try & see how you go on, I am not knocking these people, as far as I am concerned they can wear whatever they want, but In the right places! not as far as security is concerned, as far as driving safety & vision is effected & going back to my answer " not whilst driving" you said Barmaid the headdress moves with them turning their heads!!! I am talking about the corners of your eyes & if you are a driver you will understand what I mean. End.
