Depends on the circumstances. For example were you on the motorway on a push bike- well then you may be struggling? What sort of bike? What happened?
Bike riders do get some privileges over car drivers in some circumstances in that the car driver can be assumed to be at fault unless it can be shown otherwise.

What is the extent of the injury ( hairline fracture / displaced fratcture )?
What treatment have you had ?

I agree Buildersmate, we already have the ambulance chasers with all these "no win no fees" solicitors just waiting in the wings to sue anybody for as much as sneezing in the wrong direction.

I recently heard of a guy suing his pub landlord, the guy was p!!sed and fell off his bar stool, well it must have been the landlords fault for serving him when he was drunk, he sued the landlord for about £20.000 I'm told. What is the world coming to!!!!

It is true to say that a lot of people make claims when any injuries suffered are minimal -they see it as a quick way to make a fast/ easy buck .

However there are cases where people through no fault of their own , but by the gross negligence of others ; suffer injuries which have a serious and significant impact on their lives and daily living .
It is only right and proper that in cases like these the injured party should be appropriately compensated .

At one end of the scale you have claims for the odd twinge in the neck ; to the other side of the scale ; where people are turned into paraplegics / quadriplegics

I got knocked over on a pedestrian crossing taking my 4 year old to school. No broken bones.

I got 6k...and my son got 1.5k....

I was in a mess though and it took a long time for my son to get over it. He developed a fear of roads to the point that we couldn't even take him to the park.

There was about 30 witnesses....the police were called and the driver got prosecuted for dangerous driving. He was on his mobile and didn't see the red light.
