That poor effing creature! It must have been absolutely terrified! Is this really how far humans have come?
Cna we not treat anything under us with just the slightest bit of respect!

During the holiday season, visitors come with their children and feed the cats, when they go, other families take over and the cats are well fed.
Come the end of the season, all the holiday makers have gone and the well fed, often pregnant cats then starve throughout the winter, many never surviving.
The indigenous Spanish think that this is cruel and doing the cats no favours and are amazed that the holiday makes can´t see this. I couldn´t let a cat starve. Mrs sqad and other volunteers have adopted a cat sanctuary and twice a week, we feed 80 cats, all funded by donations.
All strays are caught and neutered....the problem however, continues.

sqad thats lovely about the sanctuary you support - well done to you and Mrs Sqad...
Personally I wouldnt have thought the feeding of them during holiday season would have created such a problem - I guess they wold then scavenge more maybe from restaurants etc in the winter months - and the spanish would hate that - but also surprised the cats are not more resilient with their hunting skills!!! I know the ones my mum feeds catch mice rats and insects - as one got attacked by a rat and lost part of his ear!
Spaying really is the only answer to reduce the numbers - but a near impossible task all the time the others are still breeding!
Keep up the good work though!
