I've just bought a whole salmon from Waitrose ... 5.5kg

It's for Sunday, when I've got a few pals coming for lunch.

I was just going to poach it, and then take the skin off and stick cucumber slices on the outside.

I wonder if it would be nice marinaded in tinned tomatoes?

You bought the fish today...for SUNDAY??

I hope it keeps.....maybe the tomatoes will act as a preservative.....

Should I have stuck to a fridge full of bottled lager ????
have a word with your local landlord or do you know anyone who does outdoor events?
I'd suggest the same as fluffy, have a word with a local pub that caters for outside events, you would probably find they will supply the keg of beer cheaper than you can buy it elsewhere too.
OH and, if you use the wrong gas you'll be pulling lovely pints of froth.

I think I need to get it set up and have a trial run.

Is that because the beer absorbs the CO2, or something ??

Something to do with Henry's Law, isn't it ? (absorption of gases into liquids).

I have to go out.

Quick tinned tomato before I go, anyone ?
Who's bumfluff are you admiring mazie?! lol

I hope it wasn't that dodgy pub you were in the other day chuck
No tinned tomatos. Salmon is divine just poached. Cucumber slices or lemon slices great. And hollandaise sauce. Yum.
