Recording books

I asked this in Arts and Literature and didn't quite receive a definitive answer; if I were to record myself telling children's stories onto a CD for use purely in the classroom would I need publishers permission?
I went on the Walker Books website and had a look at their permission form but it mostly asks questions about are you going to re-illustrate it or change any of the words, who the audience will be and how much you will be charging, seeing as none of this applies I'm wondering if it will be ok or not to go ahead without permission?
Also, if I do have to ask for permission what is the liklehood of this being granted?

No you don't

Performing the works for purposes of education are exempt from the normal restricted acts.
