I'm best man at a wedding tomorrow (yes I know this is last minute). I had my speech all prepared, but have been emailed with an information sheet from the Toast Master. In it, I'm told not to toast the bride and groom, becasue it's seen as slightly disrespectful to the bride's father who has already done this. I'm now at a loss as to how to finish off my speech!
Tell an insightful story about how they met or something you know of the groom and bring it around to what a great guy he is and how perfect they are together. Everyone remembers that and nobody really cares who you toast.
Then toast your best mate and the wonderful lady he married. You would not be toasting the Bride and Groom as such but as two the singles who...
Just mention that the toast master told you not to do it, then do it, then go and get you know whatted. Enjoy the day man and don't stress it. Most people feel for you and your predicament.
According to this site the father of the bride toast the bride as does the groom and the bestman toasts the happy couple. Not much of a toast master if he's left it this late in the day to tell you in anycase.
I'd ignore him and go with the toast you've written.

I think you mention the bridesmaids and it might be nice if the grooms family had a mention. Enjoy the day and do not worry, you have the toughest job LOL.
