How do you poach your eggs! I poach mine in a non stick pan with water and a lttle vinegar swirl the water around and put the egg in, usually works ok, watched Masterchef and John Torrode said not to swirl the water around tried that but didn't work will stick to my own method
I never eat the things..eeeuuggh.
But-when I do them at work,I have the water at a good simmer,I break the egg into a cup-then tip it into the swirling water. As soon as it looks to boil,I turn the water down to a simmer. I find how well the eggs turn out is also dependent on the freshness of the eggs. Sometimes they just won't co-operate.... ;-))
I go along with the plastic insert thing, I'm really fussy about my eggs!! I find that generally speaking, Women don't give an egg the justice it deserves IMHO. I always cook my own eggs, no woman can cook eggs to perfection like me!!
The plastic insert does not poach eggs, it steams/bakes them. Poached eggs must be immersed in the water.
I use a frying pan. Crack the egg in to the simmering salted water, put lid on, turn heat off. 3 minutes later, it's cooked.
