Abnormal smear test

I had my first smear test a few weeks ago, got my result this morning, and it shows up as abnormal. The thing is I lost my virginity very late, and have only actually had sex twice. Based on this, I'm very worried about the result. How usual is it to get an abnormal result from a first test?

Am with u on this, im in exactly in the same boat as u. Received letter 4 weeks ago. Had Colposcopy 2 weeks ago and awaiting for results within 4-5 weeks, meaning 2-3 weeks left. After reading on net and talking with doctors, i feel relaxed and worry has eased. Let us know how u get on. Good Luck :)

Just to let you know that i have received a result a couple of days ago, it says there is a very minor abnormality on my cervix, so no treatment needed. Going back again for smear test in 6 months time. Am :) now. Are you still waiting for ur results?

Just like me now, Selfridge. I'm waiting for a repeat test in December, which I'm keeping my fingers crossed about already! I'll keep 'em crossed for you too :-)
