Going to the Gym???
3 Answers
I know this seems such a silly questions but here goes......
Im going on holiday in just over 3 weeks and i've decided i'd like to lose a little weight - not alot maybe about 1/2 a stone! Anyways i have started eating more healthy and thought I might go to the gym 2-3 hours per week (i aint been for about 5 months) I was thinking tho is going to the gym really going to benefit me that much? Or will dieting be just as good on its own?
Also is it best to eat before going to the gym or after?
Thanks
Ps does anyone know any good diets??

Gym work increases metabolism for longer, you can also improve your cardio fitness by doing at least 20 mins at 80% max heart rate, that is 220-age x 0.8 The eating bit depends on when you are going to the GYM. The best time is lunch time and optimum eating is, breakfast (absolutely vital) first thing, cereal is good, piece fruit. Always eat something small like a banana 1 hour before start of working out. Then immediately after working out, you should eat a high protein lunch, which should also contain some carbs etc. Afternoon piece of fruit, dinner low carb high protien meal no later than 7pm. Do that 5 days rest week ends and you should feel a lot better after 3 weeks. NO BOOZE, no sugar, no white bread, no added salt. Booze will weaken your will and you'll be in the curry house! Not to mention the nutritional angle!
If you need to lose half a stone in three weeks you may just have left it a bit late to develop the necessary will-power to stick to Loosehead's advice, excellent as it is. An alternative stratagem is to take clothes that are a little too big , so that you give the illusion that you have lost weight. Stand tall and straight, don't slump . Good posture can hide a multitude of overeating sins. And resolve to start your fitness regime the minute you get back. Have a good holiday!
