Sophie, my son's career advice said he would be a could pilot. He hates flying!! I haven't any faith in careers advisers even nowadays, but when I was young we only got to talk to a normal teacher who was appointed as a careers adviser. No-one came from outside to talk to us. My mother wouldn't let me leave school at 16 so she virtually forced me to do a Business Studies Course. The only thing I will say is that it gave me plenty of opportunities to change jobs, travel about and get another job straight away when I got back. Jobs were easy come by back in the 60s, early 70s. Young people were so lucky then - we had so much freedom.
Lol sara- my brother once said he wanted to be a panda when he grew up and a little girl at a nursery I was on placement at said she wanted to to be a fairy (was v sweet!)
I wouldn't mind being a librarian craft, but imagine I'd be able to sit and read all day and doubt that would actually be the case!
LL- they seriously don't listen to people I'm sure!
