Can anyone tell me the best way to become a HealthCare Assistant? Every ad I see for such posts insist on experience and qualification such as NVQs which I believe are untaken in post> Many thanks.

In a lot of nursing homes they give you the opportunity to train towards the necessary qualifications while you are there.

You can also apply to your local hospital, though there is more demand for staff in nursing homes.

Your Social Work Department employ Social Care Workers to work in the community.
They are quite flexible with qualifications or the lack of them.
They would ask that you would be prepared to to undertake the NVQs while working. They normally pay for the training.
