But with anything online, I always check the originals.
I remember my grandfather's half sister did our tree back to William the Conquerer. It was only when I got interested I realised that what she had done is found a knight of a similar name to ours and made great leap of faith FORWARDS!!! It took me ages to explain.........
If it is a tree submitted by a member of the LDS church, they often just add dates and names of people that they know existed, as opposed to using actual primary source entries, and so check and double check,
I very foolishly at the age of 18 and on holiday from college, turned up at my then BF's house and said "today we are going to trace our family trees". 21 years later, I am still doing the same tree. Actually, thinking about it, my relationship with my family tree is the longest relationship I have had. I married the then bf but subsequently divorced him.
Perhaps I should just marry Family Tree Maker and have done with it.
To hold my attention when I get too frustrated at not getting the answers I want, I have taken to drifting from one side of the family to the other.
My paternal Grandfather is still hiding somewhere, but do you think I can find him. No
Can anyone see him hiding inside their pooter....I will have to reprimand him when I do find him lol.
