fish cakes

I've got some fish cakes in the freezer but would like some ideas as to what to serve with them. I'm going shopping tomorrow & can pick something up.
The rest of the jd family don't like baked beans & arn't all that on spaghetti either.
need some filling meal ideas please

It depends on what fish has been used in the fish cakes. Most bought fishcakes are made with scraps and cheap fish. Q

Many fishcakes are made from dark fish like kippers and sardines . That is why so many look rather dark. It also depends what other ingredients are used flour, potatoes , rice. etc.
Homemade fishcakes made from cod, rice and eggs . Served with butter , peas and chips are fantastic, but probably three or four times the cost.
