I have a 3year old camellia, 4' high, which is in a pot, it has loads of buds on it and actually has one flower fully open. I would like to give it to a friend as a gift, will it be o.k. to transfer it to a new pot, filled with fresh erichaecous (sp?) compost, or will that be too strong for it during the winter when I assume it should be 'resting'. Would it be better to wait until spring to do this? It is for a birthday present. TIA rosy

I would wait until March/April.
