How does my Whirlpool oven work?

I have recently aquired a Whirlpool single oven (Mod. AKZ451/WH/01). Having read the instructions I seem to be able to get all functions to work except for one. When I set the normal fan oven funtion it will not warm up or get anywhere near to temperature. The only way I can get it to do so is to also set the 'warming' & 'browning' functions. All other functions work independantly. Is this right (it doesn't seem so to me!) or is there an obvious fault?
Any thoughts would be welcomed.

Are you sure that you've not selected the 'Heat Maintenance' setting (which only heats your oven to a maximum of 60C)?
