Firstly, you're really not overweight. Sounds like you are being too hard on yourself. However, in order to lose weight you need to take in less calories than the energy you expend during the day. This is why most people choose to eat less. I recently did a detox fast for 7 days- no food at all; and it made me realise that a lot of the time I eat when I really don't need to. Being hungry passes- your body will use up the fat stores first. I'm not advocating doing what I did (it was the Lemon Detox Diet and I did it in order to help my Ulcerative Colitis and hiatus hernia problems) but I learnt a great deal from doing it. So, maybe think carefully about what you eat and when you eat it. do you really need it? Are you genuinely hungry? Is the food going to do you any good? Will it fill you up? Are you going to eat all of it simply because it is on your plate, or stop the moment you feel 'content'? If we all ate only when we were genuinely hungry and stopped when we had eaten just enough, I am sure weight issues would vanish.
