your first job, can you remember it? & your first wage packet.

My first job was in a chemist shop, I had to wash out medicine bottles, people kindly brought them back but filthy. I progressed on to being a pharmacy assistant.
Also with training from "Timothy White's & Taylers" (remember them?) I became a Hygene Consultant' + Medical Rep.
My first wage packet cotained £3 - 10 shillings & i counted it out on my bed lots of times I felt sooo rich - - - Until my mother took £2- 10 shillings.

It must be lovely to do a job you really love and get paid for doing it.
I remember Bill Tarmy saying that he loved his job so much that he'd do it for no pay.

Jem - my first job was a junior shorthand typist at Sherwood Parsons in Barking in the Accounts Department. I remember how great I thought it was, no not the job but the fact our office looked out onto the yard, where all the young truck drivers used to pass by. In my first two weeks there, I was asked out by 4 different lads.

I soon got fed up with the job, as they were giving me all the crap filing and no typing, so I went up to London and landed a job as a trainee legal secretary at Coward Chance solicitors in Moorgate. Best thing I did.
