i have lived here for about 15 years and had the same landline for that time...yet over the years and more so recently i keep getting calls asking for a Mrs Mc\kenna...and i am not mrs mckenna...

this house stood empty for over 50 years before i moved in

who is this and why is she registered at my number?

at first i thoight it was an excuse to call me, as one person just said " oh sorry, well can i ask ypur name and if you want this offer blah blah"...but most dont ask that.

what can i do about it?

im not actually that bothered about its just weird, but its still a bit annoying

thanks

Joko. Do you ask them what number they are calling and where did they get the number from. It is only by questioning the callers are bit more in depth that you will ever get to the bottom of this.
bushbaby - you cannot make unsolicited calls to someones home after 9pm unless they have specifically requested that you do so - I.e. if you are a shiftworker and want to be called late at night rather than during the day.
annie0000- does that apply to any caller (eg me ringing a neighbour) or is there a definition of 'unsolicited call'?
Thanks annie - I thought you were saying no phone calls could be made, didn't realise you were specifically referring to unsolicited marketing-type calls.
factor no lol - you can happily call your neighbour, friends and family any time you like. I think it may be listed in the distance marketing directive. I'll have a wee look and post the link if I can find it.
