How much is too much?

There's much comment about high earners etc. but what in your view is enough or too much per annum? £30k, £50k, £80k, >£100k?

Why pay them 30K when you can get enough of them for 20K?

Plus it depends on how many people that wage has to go between. 30k for one person would leave them comfortably but if that was the house's only income and there were say; grandma, grandpa, mum, dad and the average 2 kids, then 30k wouldn't let them live that comfortably.

Twenty years ago I knew someone who thought he'd had a bad month ... take home pay £22,000 for one month ... his gross wage for the month was over £40,000
