I have a 92 2.3 Prelude, most of the time it runs like a dream but now and then it will just refuse to start, it will fire initially then die and will not start until you leave it for 5-10 mins then starts first time. The other problem is that it will also occasionally idle erratically between 700-1400 RPM then next time you start it it sits perfect at normal idle speed?

Does it have an electronic management system?
This used to be a common problem on Preludes, the usual cause if the fuel pump relay overheating and it needs to be replaced.  You can get a garage to check it for you and if it is that they should be able to change it for a little amount of money.

Thanks for the advice, will get the relay replaced and hopefully.........

My only doubt is that both problems have also occured when the car is first started and even the relay would not have had time to warm up but i will replace it to eliminate it.
