Hi, I have an analogue tv with three scart sockets, a PVR and a DVD player. How do I hook them up please. I have put pictures onto a DVD and a CD but I can't play them, so I thinking maybe they are hooked up wrongly as I can play them on another set up.

Ignoring the pictures for the moment... can you see the menus or anything on the screen from the DVD player? and have you tried a DVD?

Check what it says beside each of the scart sockets - one may be an output only.
Be sure your DVD player is connected to an input socket.
For viewing, switch between the different inputs using the 'TV' button on your TV remote. eg it will cycle through analogue (Nicam Stereo), AV 1, AV 2 etc

Thank you for replying gen2, I checked the scart sockets but they just say EXT1, EXT2 and EXT3, the DVD player is connected to the only scart socket there is. Everything is working O.K. it is just the pics that I want to look at. rosy

Yes Chuck as I say everything is working perfectly, DVD, Freeview and TV, I can play my pre recorded DVDs no problem.. But when I try the discs, CD-R, DVD+RW, DVD+R none of these will work.rosy
load the piccies & press hold on player. Flick thru TV channels to find the channel the 'hold' photos are playing on.

Thank you Jaydah but the dvd won't do anything, it just says 'loading' then comes up in red, 'check disc please' and on the dvd player it says 'disc error', very strange. rosy
it's not a problem with how it's hooked up then, it's a problem with that disc with the photos on it.

Not all DVD players support the same things, just because the disc works on other systems doesn't mean it will work on yours, also they do go wrong!

what's the make and model of the DVD player?
Question Author
Oh right Chuck, thank you for that. The dvd is a Toshiba SD-220EB, which is very old by today's standards I know, it is probably over eight or nine now!! The other one which I got the pics on is just a cheapo Akura from Aldi. I guess you are right, thanks again, rosy
