Yes, nobody really gets turned on by ugliness or obesity, but as long as somebody's physical characteristics fall within the "OK range", I think a pleasant personality, a sense of humour and they way they treat other people is far more important.

Yes of course or there'll be temptation. But not everyone's idea of good looks is the same. I don't go for tall girls, blondes, big breasts, bras, make-up, net stockings, high heels or gold jewellery. So he, she, you, they, don't have to have conventional looks. Being good in bed (or elsewhere) is very important too. Don't come the old Love Will Conquer All, because love needs feeding or it won't live.
