Hope you'll be okay
6.2... not too bad, the guidlines are between 4 and 8 (I think) If you are on the slippery slope to type 2 it's not that bad. Mr M has been type 2 for 25 years, on 5 injections a day. He's fit and well and enjoying a good life, just has a 'jab ' when he eats. This getting old malarky is as good as you make it. xx
As a type 2 I can say that whilst 6.2 is a little high - and I do mean a little then there is no great worry there.
My doc would get worried if its regularly over 7 and that will probably mean watching the diet and 8 or 9 (regularly) might mean tablets but ethandron I would not worry in the slightest.
With 3 different tablets and a total of 5 a day just for diabetes my 6-monthly check up comes in at an avarage of 5.8 -5.9 and my doc says I have good control!!!
Sleep well and dont get any (more) grey hairs

thanks for all your responses.
kick up the backside? quite right squad :o)
i know exactly what i should be doing, it's doing it that's the difficult bit :(
i was somewhat surprised when i rang for the results yesterday (routine annual blood test) which is what prompted my original post. although i have a son who's been type 1 for 19 years, type 2 (and more importantly how to avoid it) is a different kettle of fish and not something i'm particularly clued up about.
as with lots of medical conditions, the answer is in my own hands now. thanks again all.
