Paper Hat!

Hey I need help! I dont want to make a paper hat with loads of folds I have a A4 bit of paper, have folded it in half and now I have to cut out the shape but you have to start from the folded side every time I try it out it never works out???? Help please!

Well there ar epaper hats and paper hats, many of which involve folding. What sort of finished shape are you looking to achieve?
