Can anyone please let me know what is better: Norton AV 2005 and AVG antivirus and Norton Firewall 2005 and Zonealarm? What are the detection rates? Which should i go for, forgetting the price? I dont mind paying for reliable software.

Found a great site here that may help you:

Both AVG and ZoneAlarm make versions you can buy, but for individual users they do make free versions.

I have used the free versions of AVG and ZoneAlarm and found them excellent. Both are easy to use and configure.

I did have Norton Internet Security (which includes Anti-Virus, Firewall, and a host of other things) but found it huge and complex, with tons of updates to download.

For an average home user the free AVG Anto Virus and ZoneAlarm are fine.
