Do you think that people over a certain age should take asprin daily?. Does anyone on here take it, even though they are not prescibed it. In the paper today (Daily Mail) their is artical on its benefits. So I am trying to weigh up the risk. Thanks
This is a long term thing and is not suited to all people.
Before starting I would advise to get your doctors opinion - for you.
There are possible adverse effects that may cause problems for you.
The long term dosage for preventative therapy is 75mgms day....unlikely to cause problems.
I do not take Aspirin but I do take Omega 3 1,000mgms daily as I feel that they are superior to Aspirin in preventing cardio.vascular disease............just my opinion.
I haven't read the article in the Daily Mail. but will do so and come back if there are any salient points.
people who've had strokes take a daily dose of aspirin - but on medical advice. I wouldn't just take it, just in case - discuss it with your doctor or practice nurse first.
I can't take aspirin, I'm sensitive to it, so it would be no good for me!
When I used to do a bit of high altitude walking I used to take an asprin a day. After about 5 days I used to get a few pains in my stomach. I wouldn`t take it unless I was prescribed it for sound medical reasons
