I am recovering from hyserectomy , day 4. My bladder seems to be very irritable. Of course, I am supposed to drink lots of water, (so it can be more irritated?) It seems I don't want to do so Is there any medicine or food stuff that I can take to sooth the bladder. I would say to anyone, don't wait until you are my age to do this surgery. Do it when you are younger.

not that i am aware of is it possible you may have a urine infection??
do you have any discomfort when passing urine?

As far as I know there is no infection, it just seems raw. I guess I would have to be checked to see for sure. If it doesn't get better I will do so.
i would ask your g.p to do a urine sample.
but it could just be a bit sore after all its very near placed to where you had your surgery so its probably just inflamed
just continue with the drinking lots of water
sqad on here is very good at medical advice you could repost
but put attention of for sqad at the top (f.a.o) for short.

Thank you everyone, I will just hang on the branch with my teeth.
anecdotally, cranberry drinks are said to be good for soothing the bladder and warding off infection.
PS you still have to drink lots, having cranberry instead of water doesn't mean that you can drink less. If you don't want to drink or find it difficult, have a small glass and a jug or carton by you and keep sipping rather than having a big glass and gulping.
