I dont want an all singing all dancing bells and whistles programme for my photos. I only want to enlarge/crop pictures,remove red eye etc.I want an easy to use basic free programme......help please...

Irfanview should be on everyone's PC, simply because it's the best image viewing program available. However it's also got some good image manipulation features:

Picasa (from Google) is very popular, and easy to use:

GIMP might be rather advanced for your needs,but I'll mention it because it's the nearest that any free program comes to matching Photoshop:

For casual users, such as yourself, the star program (among the freebies) is probably PhotoPlus SE:

If you are using windows (anty version OS), right click on the picture or pcture file name, and choose 'open with.....microsoft office picture manager'. There is a tab at the top right of this program 'edit pictures', which will allow you do all the things you ask about.
