when John Stape made his excuses for being late (couldn't get his car out) made me think, a lot of the residents have cars, where do they park them? There never seems to be any cars parked in the street and they don't have garages, so where are they then?

Have just been doing catch up on some recorded episodes and am doing my head in over the actors who play Charlotte's parents. I recognise the mother, Jean Fergusson, as Marina, Howard's bit on the side, from Last of the Summer Wine, but John Woodvine, the father, although his face is very familiar, I cannot place at all. Where might I have seen him before?

He was the doctor in "American Werewolf in London". Hasn't changed much in nearly 30 years!

Should have Googled it before asking. Thanks for the help. Remember him from Z Cars years ago. Didn't realise he was that age (81).
