Something weird here dotty.........the genealogist doesn't have the christian names either and I've looked through the relevant quarters at all the Fabers and all the Hortons and cannot find a match. FindMypast can't find the marriages at all.

Una married Leslie H Taber and Eric married Iris R Morton.

well done! I know the actual filmed index from the GRO has Faber for Una's spouse, how did you spot it as taber?

and the same with Horton to Morton.

So FMP must have spotted somehow that the Faber was a no goer and looked for the right surname in the original index? is it there? I;ll have a check

oh yes, Leslie H Taber is transcribed by ancestry, but when you click on find spouse there is no entry, yet in the typed original index it is definately Laughlin, mmm odder
