Hi Craft

Thanks again for offering to help. Hope you can. Details as follows

Henry Royal b 1825 Sunderland m 1848 Hannah Forster

1851and 1861 census at 59 Church Street. Seaham. Dawdon. Durham (master mariner)

Hannah, his wife remarried in 1867 to Wm MacKay . Cannot find Henry after this date or his death.
As mentioned before I found a Henry Royal 1825 on 1880 US census age 55 but single, at Rock Island, Illinois. He was a mariner so could have died at sea, but cannot find any record.

Ive exhausted all avenues available to me and am mystified. Would really love to know what happened to him as my husband is a direct decendant.

There are a number of Henry Royals around that date and area which are confusing as dates keep changing as you will know so its hard to see sometimes if you have the right one

Please dont let it take up too much of your time, but I really appreciate your offer of help. Thank you

Hi Craft. Thanks. Just to let you know Im not ignoring you if you come back soon. I must log out and go and get some tea ready for the worker. May come back later this evening, otherwise it will be in the morning. Bye for now
craft can you find anything 1891 or earlier for this chap cos i can't
Name: Henry Royal
Estimated birth year: abt 1820
Year of Registration: 1893
Quarter of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep
Age at Death: 73
District: Sunderland
County: Durham, Tyne and Wear
Volume: 10a
Page: 391
I've got a Henry Royal died Hull 1864 Q3 9d 137.
What do you think dot.........Hull would make sense as it's a large port, and the date would allow 3 years for Hannah to remarry as a widow.
I've looked through findmypast and can't find him dying abroad or on board ship.

Hi Dot. Hope you are feeling better.
Thanks for the info. I think the one you mention died in 1893 is yet another Henry Royal that I know about.

Hi Craft. Thanks for checking. I could look into the Hull death as its not too far from where I live. Its certainly a possiblilty.

Thanks both again for your trouble. I will let you know how I get on
i saw the hull one but there was a matching henry royale living in hull on the census and so i wrote that one off.
