As the title says, im not sending cards this year, at the end of the day people look at them once then either pop them into a pile or place on side never to look at again.
Anyway, because of this and also that i dont have the addresses of you lot i just want to say that made a donation in leiu of cards to both CLIC sargent http://www.clicsargent.org.uk/Home and also to my nephew Deryn's appeal as a way of wishing you all a Merry Christmas :)
Francis, its nice to know that people do still take notice of their cards :)
Eth, why not put a note in explaining what youd like to do, as you said, and then state that anyone who would rather a card than a donation to charity should write and let you know. I bet many wouldnt argue that way :)
you're quite right lottie, there are about half a dozen i would continue to send to - all elderly people. apart from them liking to receive them, i doubt they'd understand my reasoning for not sending them.
Look forward to your next photo of the seasonal change in the field Lottie - if it were not for you I would have to clean my windows or turn the calendar over ;o) I am ok ta - still annoying people here! ♥
Ha ha, ttfn. It's a pretty dismal view now. muddy and grey, grey grey. Took the dog out the other day and both of us came back in a right mess. I will continue with the pictures :o)
Sorry Lottie - the late ttfn replying as ever! Not a lot really. Big Sis and I will be together sharing her lurcher, though i actually prefer turkey. Joke! but you knew that any way. We only have each other now so fall outs are a no-no in the run up to Christmas ;o) Afterwards - well, anything goes. I jest - we look after each other quite well really. We may have a little snifter with our meals - just to keep the cold out you understand. i bought all the bottles yesterday - hard work getting that trolley up the slope in the car park though, I suspect the large pack of kitchen rolls was to blame ;o)
for some years now i dont send xmas cards, i give special ones to my children only. and make a donation to charity with the cash i have saved on cards and stamps......red how is the nephew ?
hes doing well, thanks. Chemo over next 6 weeks i think it is. Was supposed to go and see EACH this week, (East Anglian Childrens Hospice) with a view to getting respite up there in future, but had to cancel as his friend is poorly and he wanted his friend to visit with him. According to his mum he is the "healthiest" amongst all his friends at the moment who are all coming down with the usual winter bugs.
