I live about 20 miles from Matlock - we had all our snow about 2 weeks ago, now we just have frost. where are you coming from?

M55,M6,M61,M602 should be fine, it's that last stretch on the old A6 that could mess you up, if the weather is sunny and fine though you should be good as the schools are all out.

Friends of mine live near Longnor. They are snowed in. Mind you, they do live at about the highest point in the area.

just checked the BBC local weather for matlock for wednesday and it;s given snow late afternoon. same for Mamchester area.

It's a real problem, we are supposed to be visiting step daughter with new baby for pre Christmas get together, they have bought all the food and drinks and presents etc. we have presents for them also, it's really going to bu**er everything up if we can't get there.

We live in Southport and today we had to go to Derby to get our daughter from Uni - it took us 3 hrs to dig our car out of our drive! Once we had got onto the M6 and past Warrington the roads were pretty good and we got there and back in 5hrs, longer than usual but we took it carefully - no snow in Derby!!
