Cortisone injections
11 Answers
Hi all
On Friday I had two Cortisone injections put in my heels for Plantar fasciitis. The injections I must add where the most painful thing I have ever had, and that includes epidurals. The Consultant told me that by the next day for possibly the next three days I would be in absolute agony, had already been told this by quite a few people, one being my sister who is a Physio. Anyway apart for a dull ache and the pain from bruising I have no pain. Is this normal or have the injections not quite hit their mark.
The pain from the Plantar fasciitis has eased considerbly

(I put a post of here asking if it was normal!) Its worn off now but doesnt seem to have worked this time as my shoulder is still causing me pain :(
I had the same reaction feebee102 I also had physio and strapping . I haven't had any trouble for the last 4/5 years and I think what finally did the trick was heel inserts called Orthoheel which I bought from Boots (recommended by a chiropodist) about £20.00 per pair. Hope that it settles down - it is extremely painful
I have the same problem and waiting for physio. granny grump i tried those heel inserts, for some unknown reason they do not work for me. Ouch, put me right off the injections there feebee 102, just the thought of having injections in my foot makes me feel queasy. Read somewhere on the internet that they give you a general anaesthetic for the injections ??
My OH has this (since about 9 months ago) and someone recommended 'Fitflop' sandals. He bought some at the begining of the summer and the pain was immediately about 80% better. He had also used the heel inserts which helped slightly but not nearly as much as the sandals.
He wore them continually throughout the summer, unless it was raining, and now wears them instead of slippers in the house. We 've bought a further pair for next year, from the sales.

I'm a big fan of Crocs but my physio told me that these where the cause of my problem, to flat she said. Told her I hadn't worn any heels for 20 odd years, and don't think I could now. Not really practical when your mucking out animals lol.
