How many others on here are waiting for and worrying about, loved ones travelling long distances to be with us at Christmas??
Our daughter is travelling from Brighton to North Lancs , as I type, in an old Ford KA and is expecting to arrive in the early hours. Not going to sleep until she arrives.
"God speed" love, safe journey.

Oh, I though you meant 'loaned ones'. Now you come to mention it, there are quite a few people who I'm waiting on to return loaned ones, fives, tens, twenties and even fifty pound notes. Maybe that's why I'm so hard up this Christmas!
My Uncle is flying to Thailand as we speak. I'm more jealous than worried :-)
Im not but I can understand your worries in this awful weather x
I've used that link loads this last few days
I would be waiting up too - I am sure she will be fine, better to take it slowly and get to you late into the night than to rush. I'm lucky, my children are all fast asleep in their beds - going to be awful when they don't live with us anymore (although that's a long way off). x
I am not bitching - really - but my two girls (12 and 8) are in the States and I won't be seeing them this Christmas like last year..........and it hurts.

However, there are other things ti be grateful for.
We were hoping our daughter and granddaughter could travel from Buckingham up to Yorkshire to collect their presents, but it looked like they wouldn't be able to make it. The weather has been so bad where they are. Today she phoned to say they would arrive tomorrow lunch time but it will be a much shorter visit now. I'm worried about them making the journey, but really hoping to see them before Christmas.
What a lovely welcome your daughter will have joe. Have a lovely Christmas all together.
Oh bless you grandpajoe! she'll be fine main roads are ok, and Ford Ka's are great in the snow, I know, I drive one!.................
HI DT - sorry to hear that you will not be seeing your girls at Christmas. I would like to think that if me and my husband ever split up that we could be 'grown up' about access but I secretly fear that I would try to scratch his eyes out if he took the children off anywhere for more than an hour or two. x
Hoping all snow will clear by xmas day, I havent seen redcrx and my niblings for 2 months :-(

Thank you all.
Yes I am tracking the roads. She will be on M40 now and will stop for a very expensive brew at the M6 Toll transport cafe. That'll be half way.
