Being turned down for ESA

I had a medical and scored 9 which is ridiculous. I am appealing, but the appeal won't be until MAY at the earliest! How does the Government expect me to survive? I have had no income whatsoever since July, and my redundancy pay is going to run out very soon. I could sign on to JobSeekers but I wouldn't be able to get there or stand in the queue (my Ulcerative Colitis is so bad at the moment that I am house-bound).
Has anyone else been in this position? Any thoughts? thanks :)

I'm not sure what a score of 9 means- what score did you expect/believe you should get?
Do you know which particular aspects were assessed incorrectly in your opinion?

That really is ridiculous!! I was given a score of 0 for my ability to stand, sit and squat and kneel!! I have had an ankle and knee operation and my knee doesn't bend; I have 3 slipped discs and can't stand up without pain. How he can score me 0 is beyond me. He also said I can walk 100m when I often can't walk at all, and certainly not that far! But do you know how people waiting for an appeal can survive? Yes it was ATOS. Also on the ESA letter which said I hadn't scored high enough, it said if you want to appeal you must write to ... which I did that very second. Then when I got my rejection letter back, it stated as the main reason for rejection as "no medical evidence". So how come the ESA letter didn't tell me to enclose medical evidence, or it would get thrown out?!! It's infuriating!

Not yet; I got the letter yesterday and have already asked my Doctor for a letter of support (medical evidence), But I can't walk at all at the mo, and getting anywhere means paying for cabs which I really can't afford to do. I will phone and see if I can get a phone consultation...

i would do as wyzard has said and try and get to your local cab. i know someone who had no money for 11 months.
i wish you luck and hope you get better treatment than she received from the dwp who passed her from one department to the other over a period of nearly 24 months.
i have not spoke to her for around 4 months so i do not know if she has got it all sorted
