Yes, that's how you spell it.
We're hoping to be first -footed by the young fry after they've seen in the New Year at the pub. Fortunately the house in on the road from the pub to anywhere else they go, so they tend to drop in for some cake, shortbread , booze etc before continuing the revels.
Do you celebrate it, or just go to bed ?

Used to go out but now I tend to stay in with a quiet drink and speak to sister in the antipodes, she celebrates 12 hours before us so is well gone well I call!!

We used to go out too, but haven't for years and years now...got out of the habit when the son-and-heir was small and never really got back into it.
Really enjoy it when his pals come round, though. Known them all since they were tiny and have embarrassing stories about most of them...nasty I know, but I have to have some pleasures in life.......

I suspect you may be right Ladya he/she hasnt replied anyway. I used to go first-footing with my piece of coal but its all central heating now and I dont fancy carrying a radiator from door to door!!
