in that case you dont even need worry about the increase.
But the 1st was a public holiday on a saturday, the 2nd was a sunday, and the third was a public holiday too, and so they will not hae processed your order until the 4th
if you had checked the site I would hae expected there to hae been a norification of the VAT rise and how it would affect their billing process
did you check to see if they would be posting on the exact day your ordered? or even if they were shipping anything before the 4th?

most mail order companies dont ship and take money for a few days.

Of course, you ought to be able to cancel your order if there was no mention of a price change
the con is the debt the last Gov left that now has to be re-couped. VAT on products makes the purchaser pay rather than increased tax on income.
As I understand it, if you paid in full for the item before the VAT rise, you should pay VAT at 17.5%
