Jake...I haven't been back for a while my my daughter is living there. She gets rent allowance which was applied for and granted the same day. She does work full time but is on a low income (only 18) She had a fall out with her Dad, found a house, applied for rent allowance and got it all within a week.
It might be a bit more flexible in the rural areas as everyone knows everyone.
