Wireless network / router problem

Hi there,

I have a D-Link router set-up to run my SKY broadband. Up until two weeks ago I could get wireless internet anywhere in my three storey house. I now can not get it other than in the same room as the router. Called SKY who did 100 and 1 things with me over the phone and still couldnt fix it so they sent a new router out. Same thing is still happening.
When I am upstairs my laptop registers that my router exists and says that it has excellent signal strength but when I try to connect, it either just says waiting for network and then says couldnt connect, or it connects for two seconds and drops out again.

I have just seen a post on here saying that I might need to change the channel my router is working on so I typed 192.168.0.1 into the address bar and when prompted to enter username and password, it doesn't like the stuff on the side of my router...

HELP PLEASE!!!!

Little tip now that you've solved your problem. Go back into the router settings and change either your username or password (or both) for your router access and then keep the new details safe somewhere.

Chuck has just proven how easy it is for someone to get access to your router if they break into your wireless network, because it's username and password are set to their default values. Meaning you share these details with tens of thousands of people.
